Dermathod O2 Tox Peel — The Peel That Pricks, Then Perfects
Currently unavailable. In the meantime, the Dermathod Priming Booster Peel Pads are a client-favorite way to keep resurfacing at home.
The Dermathod O2 Tox Peel is a Korean spicule treatment designed to exfoliate and renew the skin, visibly refine texture, brighten dull skin, minimize the appearance of pores, and leave the complexion smoother and more polished.
Formulated with 30,000 ppm of microscopic sponge-derived spicules, O2 Tox offers an at-home approach to liquid microneedling without a traditional microneedling device. An oxygenating micro-bubble formula pairs the spicules with niacinamide, centella asiatica, peptides, ceramide NP, and hydrating ingredients to support the skin throughout the treatment.
Unlike a traditional acid peel, the resurfacing action comes from the spicules themselves. A distinctive prickling sensation is expected and may remain noticeable when touching or cleansing the skin for up to 48–72 hours.
Benefits of Dermathod O2 Tox Peel
- Exfoliates to help smooth rough, uneven texture
- Refines the appearance of enlarged pores
- Brightens dull, tired-looking skin
- Helps improve the appearance of congestion
- Supports firmer, smoother-looking skin
- Provides intensive exfoliation without traditional peeling acids
- Combines spicules with an oxygenating micro-bubble formula
- Provides an at-home liquid microneedling treatment without a device
- Designed for once-weekly use
What Are Spicules?
Spicules are microscopic needle-like structures derived from freshwater sponge. In skincare, they're used to provide intensive physical stimulation and exfoliation and are the technology behind treatments commonly referred to as liquid microneedling.
O2 Tox contains 30,000 ppm of hydrolyzed sponge spicules. When gently pressed into the skin, they create the characteristic prickling sensation of the treatment while supporting the skin's natural renewal process.
The result is a distinctly different resurfacing experience for skin that looks smoother, brighter, and more refined.
More Than a Spicule Treatment
- Niacinamide – Helps brighten uneven-looking tone and support the skin barrier
- Centella Asiatica – Helps soothe and support the skin
- Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 – Helps support smoother-looking skin
- Ceramide NP – Supports the skin's moisture barrier
- Sodium Hyaluronate – Helps attract and retain hydration
- Allantoin – Helps soothe and condition the skin
- Adenosine – Supports smoother, firmer-looking skin
How to Use Dermathod O2 Tox Peel
- Use in the evening on freshly cleansed skin.
- Apply 4–5 pumps evenly over the face.
- Allow the oxygenating micro-bubbles to activate.
- Once bubbling subsides, gently tap and press the treatment into the skin for up to one minute. Do not rub or scrub.
- Do not rinse.
- Once fully absorbed, follow with a gentle moisturizer.
- Apply broad-spectrum SPF every morning.
Use once weekly. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and other intensive exfoliating treatments in the same routine.
Pila's Esthetician Tip: O2 Tox is your treatment step, so more isn't better. Once it has absorbed, follow with a hydrating moisturizer rather than layering additional active serums. Keep your routine gentle for the next few days and be consistent with daily sun protection.
What to Expect After Dermathod O2 Tox Peel
The characteristic prickling sensation may remain noticeable for 48–72 hours, particularly when touching or cleansing the skin.
During this time, keep your routine simple with gentle cleansing, hydration, moisturizer, and daily SPF. Avoid additional exfoliation while the skin moves through its natural renewal process.
In the days following treatment, skin may appear smoother, brighter, and more refined. Consistent once-weekly use supports continued visible improvement in the appearance of texture and tone.
