Updated August 2026 with current AnteAGE MD Biosome System ingredients, growth factor information, and guidance for incorporating the two-step system into an aging-skin routine.
If your skincare routine already includes hydration, antioxidants, exfoliation, and sunscreen, you may eventually wonder: what comes next?
This is when I start talking to my guests about growth factors.
Growth factor skincare isn't simply another way to moisturize your skin. Growth factors are signaling proteins used in skincare to support the processes associated with skin renewal and the appearance of collagen, elastin, firmness, and texture.
As skin ages, some of the changes aren't just about dryness. Skin may not bounce back as quickly. It can become less firm, texture may become more noticeable, and it may take longer to look refreshed after dryness, irritation, or everyday environmental stress.
Think of growth factors as skincare focused on supporting how your skin functions as it ages.
If you're wondering what AnteAGE MD does, how growth factors work in skincare, or whether the AnteAGE MD Biosome System is worth adding to an aging-skin routine, this is what you need to know.
What Are Growth Factors in Skincare?
Growth factors are proteins naturally found in the body that act as messengers between cells. They're involved in many biological processes, including those associated with skin renewal and maintaining the structures that give skin its firmness and elasticity.
As we age, those natural signaling processes become less efficient.
Topical growth factor skincare is designed to support those processes and improve the appearance of firmness, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality over time.
That's what makes growth factors different from many of the ingredients you may already be using.
What Are AnteAGE Biosomes?
Biosomes™ are part of AnteAGE MD's technology for delivering its skin-signaling ingredients within the formula.
Rather than thinking of Biosomes as another active ingredient like vitamin C or bakuchiol, think of them as part of the technology AnteAGE uses to help its signaling ingredients interact with the skin.
The more important question is what all of those ingredients can do together.
Why Growth Factors Are Different From Hydration
A hydrating serum has an important job. It helps attract and hold water in the skin.
An exfoliant has another job. It helps remove accumulated surface cells to improve the appearance of texture and tone.
Vitamin C provides antioxidant support and can help brighten the appearance of the skin.
Growth factors have a different job. They're used for their signaling function and to support the processes associated with renewal, firmness, elasticity, and overall skin quality.
I don't think of growth factors as a replacement for the rest of a good skincare routine. They're something I start considering when a good routine no longer seems to be doing quite enough.
What's Inside the AnteAGE MD Biosome System?
There's a lot more going on in these two bottles than growth factors alone.
Growth Factors
Growth factors are at the heart of the system and are used to support the signaling associated with skin renewal and the appearance of firmness, smoother texture, and elasticity.
Niacinamide
The Serum contains niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3. It's an ingredient I like because it supports the skin barrier while helping with hydration, texture, and uneven-looking tone.
Peptides
The Serum also contains peptides. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that can perform different functions in skincare and complement the system's growth factor technology.
Vitamins C + E
The Accelerator contains vitamins C and E, two familiar antioxidants that help protect the skin against oxidative stress while supporting brighter, healthier-looking skin.
Hyaluronic Acid
Sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid, helps attract and retain water in the skin.
Ceramides
Ceramide NP helps support the skin barrier and its ability to retain moisture, something that becomes increasingly important as skin becomes drier with age.
CoQ10 + Alpha-Lipoic Acid
The Accelerator also contains CoQ10 and alpha-lipoic acid for additional antioxidant support.
Bakuchiol
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived alternative to retinol.
I especially like it for someone who can't use or doesn't tolerate retinol well. Bakuchiol can offer some of the same visible benefits we look for from retinol, particularly smoother-looking texture and improvement in the appearance of fine lines, without the same tendency toward dryness, peeling, and irritation.
My GRASS Approach to Aging Skin
There are so many anti-aging ingredients now that skincare can become unnecessarily complicated.
I like to bring it back to what I call GRASS.
G — Growth Factors
Support the signaling involved in skin renewal and the appearance of collagen, elastin, firmness, and texture.
R — Retinol
Helps encourage cell turnover and improve the appearance of fine lines, texture, and uneven tone. When someone can't use or tolerate retinol, an ingredient such as bakuchiol can be another option.
A — Antioxidants
Vitamin C is the one most people know. Antioxidants help protect the skin against oxidative stress caused by environmental exposure.
S — Sunscreen
Still the most important daily step for protecting your skin from UV damage and helping prevent many of the visible changes we associate with premature aging.
S — Specialty Ingredients
These are the extras I choose according to what your skin specifically needs. That might mean peptides for firmness, beta-glucan or hyaluronic acid for dehydration, ceramides for barrier support, or targeted ingredients for pigmentation, texture, or breakouts.
You don't need every trending ingredient you see online.
If you have the foundations of GRASS covered and then choose your specialty ingredients according to what your skin actually needs, you have a strong framework for caring for your skin as it ages.
What makes the AnteAGE MD System particularly useful is that it covers several parts of that framework in just two products. You're getting growth factors, antioxidant support, peptides, hydration, and bakuchiol without turning your routine into six more products.
How to Use the AnteAGE MD Two-Step System
One thing I like about AnteAGE is that the routine isn't complicated.
Step 1: AnteAGE MD Biosome Serum
Apply the Serum to clean skin first. It combines Biosomes and growth factor technology with ingredients including niacinamide and peptides.
Step 2: AnteAGE MD Biosome Accelerator
Follow with the Accelerator, which adds ingredients including vitamins C and E, bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, CoQ10, and growth factor technology.
You can also mix the Serum and Accelerator together in your hand and apply them at the same time.
Use 1–2 pumps of each morning and evening. Follow with moisturizer when your skin needs it. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
Who I Think Gets the Most From AnteAGE MD
In the treatment room at Heaven on Earth in Aspen, I see this most often with guests who already use good skincare but are looking for the next step as their skin changes with age.
Maybe you're moisturizing but still noticing changes in texture.
Maybe you're using vitamin C and sunscreen consistently, but firmness has become more of a concern.
Or perhaps your routine has worked beautifully for years and your skin simply doesn't seem to respond to it quite the way it used to.
This is when I start thinking beyond hydration alone and toward ingredients that support how skin functions as it ages.
It's also a good option when you want a more advanced aging-skin routine without adding several separate serums.
What Can the AnteAGE MD System Do for Your Skin?
I would look to this system when you're concerned with:
- fine lines and wrinkles
- loss of firmness
- rough or uneven-looking texture
- skin that doesn't seem to bounce back the way it once did
- dryness and dehydration
- dullness
- overall skin quality as it ages
This isn't a product I think of as an overnight fix.
Growth factors make more sense as part of a long-term skincare strategy, particularly when you're interested in supporting your skin beyond simply keeping it moisturized.
Why I Like the AnteAGE MD System
There are plenty of excellent products that hydrate, brighten, exfoliate, and protect the skin. Those all have a place.
Growth factors give us another way to address the changes we begin to notice as skin ages.
If you're already using good skincare and wondering what to add next for aging skin, this is where I would consider them.
I particularly like that AnteAGE doesn't require you to build an entirely separate routine around growth factors. The Serum and Accelerator combine them with many of the other ingredients I already want aging skin to have.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is AnteAGE MD worth adding to an aging-skin routine?
A: I think it makes the most sense when you already have the basics covered but want to do more for firmness, texture, and overall skin quality. It gives you growth factor technology, peptides, antioxidants, hydration, and other supportive ingredients without adding several separate products.
Q: What is the difference between the AnteAGE MD Serum and Accelerator?
A: The Serum is Step 1 and combines Biosomes and growth factor technology with ingredients including niacinamide and peptides. The Accelerator is Step 2 and adds ingredients including vitamins C and E, bakuchiol, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and CoQ10.
Q: Do I have to apply the Serum and Accelerator separately?
A: No. You can apply the Serum first and follow with the Accelerator, or mix the two together in your hand and apply them at the same time.
Q: Do I still need a moisturizer with AnteAGE MD?
A: You may. The Accelerator is the second step in the AnteAGE MD system, but it isn't really a moisturizer. If your skin needs more hydration or barrier support, apply your moisturizer after the Serum and Accelerator. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
Q: Is bakuchiol the same as retinol?
A: No. They're different ingredients. Bakuchiol is often used as a retinol alternative because it can provide some similar visible benefits for fine lines and texture while generally being easier to tolerate for people who experience dryness, peeling, or irritation from retinol.
Q: Can I use AnteAGE MD if I can't tolerate retinol?
A: Yes. You don't need to use retinol with the system. The Accelerator contains bakuchiol, making it an interesting option when you want to address signs of aging but don't tolerate retinol well.
Q: Do I need a separate vitamin C serum with AnteAGE MD?
A: Not necessarily. The Accelerator already contains a vitamin C derivative as part of its antioxidant support. Whether you need another vitamin C product depends on your skin and what else you're trying to address.
Q: Can I use AnteAGE MD with other skincare products?
A: Yes. It can generally be incorporated into an existing routine rather than replacing everything you're already using. If your routine already contains several active products, however, more isn't always better.
Q: Is AnteAGE MD only for women over 40?
A: No. I recommend skincare according to what your skin needs rather than your exact age. Growth factors become particularly interesting when you're noticing changes in firmness, texture, hydration, or the way your skin responds to your usual routine.
Q: Can I use AnteAGE MD around microneedling or other professional treatments?
A: Follow your provider's post-treatment instructions. Products intended for daily home use shouldn't automatically be treated as products for use during a professional procedure or immediately afterward while the skin barrier is compromised.
Q: How long does AnteAGE MD take to work?
A: Hydration and conditioning may be noticeable sooner, while improvements in the appearance of firmness, texture, and overall skin quality require consistent use over time. I think of growth factors as part of a long-term skincare routine rather than a quick fix.
